Since you were little, your parents and teachers would say, ‘don’t do this’ and ‘don’t do that.’ As a kid, you were really curious as to why you couldn’t do certain things. And by the time you were a teenager, you really wanted to explore what ‘DON’T’ was all about.

In the 60s, Hollywood saw the value in rebellious teenagers tired of being told ‘DON’T!’ With some sneaky reverse psychology, studios started marketing films with the word ‘DON’T’ as a selling point, leading to dozens of ads saying ‘DON’T SEE THIS FILM! It’s too scary!’ The marketing was there, but the word ‘DON’T’ didn’t show up in movie titles until the 70s. And there was SO MUCH.

Our focus, as always, is mid 70s to late 80s. 70s horror, when it was actually creepy; 80s when it just got dumb. And as you know, Horror Remix celebrates both.
